One of the best ways to see the beautiful scenery of Antigua is from the air. Prepare for an experience above the beautiful island of Antigua in the skies. This experience an adrenaline-pumping adventure like no other!
Paragliding is the recreational and competitive adventure sport of flying paragliders: lightweight, free-flying, foot-launched glider aircraft with no rigid primary structure. The pilot sits in a harness or lies supine in a cocoon-like ‘pod’ suspended below a fabric wing. Wing shape is maintained by the suspension lines, the pressure of air entering vents in the front of the wing, and the aerodynamic forces of the air flowing over the outside. Despite not using an engine, paraglider flights can last many hours and cover many hundreds of kilometers, though flights of one to two hours and covering some tens of kilometers are more the norm. By skillful exploitation of sources of lift, the pilot may gain height, often climbing to altitudes of a few thousand meters.
A tandem paraglider is designed to carry two people — the instructor and the passenger. The passenger is strapped into a harness right in front of an experienced paragliding pilot during the paragliding tandem flights.
Tandem paragliding is a sublime adrenaline rush. You don’t need previous experience, due to one of our expert paraglider pilots will be the one who will do all the hard work. Once you are strapped into your harness, you just need to run a bit to take off, and then sit back, relax and enjoy the stunning views. Oh, don’t forget to smile for the camera!
This amazing flight experience is piloted by an experienced instructor with over 20 years flying experience. Safety is a priority so flying equipment are regularly checked and hours logged of how much time the glider has been used. When the winds are just right, with wind speeds between 10k and 23k, (the winds are checked with an anemometer) it is time to go on your flying adventure of a lifetime.
NOTE: This activity is “wind sensitive” for your safety. The winds speeds must be between 10k and 23k in order to take flight.
Meet up Point: Jennings Hill (See Map). Alternate pickup can be arranged for an additional fee.
